Blake is June’s featured artist
Blake Ross received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Clemson University in 2005. Hearkening back to the process-oriented abstract expressionist movement, his work emphasizes simple compositional elements to explore color, texture, dimensionality (or lack thereof), and the liquidity of paint. His primary medium is house paint and water, but his arsenal of media is extremely varied - including such peculiar items as construction adhesives, powdered soft pastel, buttons, and sawdust. His primary motive for painting is to be fascinated and engaged and surprised by his own process of painting, the by-product of which is - hopefully - a beautiful painting.
