if you're a J.Crew fan...

This is totally random, but if you are a j. crew fan--you might be interested. They are updating their website (and the jury is still out on whether that's good or not!) The site is running super slow, so while they are working that out--totally free shipping! I'm not sure if you can actually get anything in your cart, but if you can just use the code FREESHIP when you check out!

flea market day

With 2 of 3 at camp, my youngest and I headed out for a quick flea market trip. He, of course, got bored and hot....but he did score a "new" old coin and a comic book. Not too shabby. I only had a camera phone, but had to take a picture of all that beautiful bakelite. One day I will own a bakelite bracelet, but I'm searching for one that is either a cuff or clamps, and it has to have a carved floral design, and...it wouldn't hurt if it was yellow. That's not too much to ask is it? (The last pic is for my sister.)

the penny never paid necklace

As promised, the penny never paid necklace is now in the shop. So many things I love about this necklace.....the statement pendant, the vintage yellow velvet ribbon, the fact that you can wear it so many ways, but my favorite is the encased penny inscribed with the words "the penny never paid to replace the playdate pen". What in the world does that mean? I love the wondering--it just makes me happy.

round nesting boxes

project alabama love!

I have loved Project Alabama forever....and bought the Alabama Stitch Book as soon as it came out. It is totally the best book and I could go on and on about how great it is! I am all about deconstruction and pieces of this and that on clothing.... and they do it so well! Even with all this Project Alabama love, I have never owned a single piece of their clothing myself. So, I was thrilled when my fabulous friend, Brenda, surprised me with this gem of a shirt.....Doesn't it look great with the blue moss tank?

...and look at the fabric hangtag. That is totally getting sewn onto a t-shirt or tank! Thanks, Bren!

odd molly love!

Odd Molly--superfabulous clothing line!! Love love love the bows, embroidery details, and logos that are stitched on the back or sleeve of the garments. As stated on their website--"every collection from odd molly carries its own signage and each signage represents its own symbolism. the symbolism itself is the platform upon which each collection has been built. if you for instance have a dove signed garment you´ll know it´s from spring of 2006". How cool is that?

I would love to buy a million of their clothes. They aren't cheap--but with all the details, and quality, you can understand the pricing. Anthropologie sells a few of their pieces, but you can see the whole line on their website. I took a quick trip to Atlanta, and found a fabulous odd molly shirt on the super way marked down anthropologie sale rack. Don't you love it when there is one left and it's your size? odd molly happiness!

massey & rogers

I was looking at the June UK edition of Country Living, and saw an article about textile designers and crafters, Massey and Rogers.

The photos of all their work in the article were amazing, so I immediately looked up their website when I got home. I also loved the website and wished I could find some of their products in the US. Well..., when you click on "shop" it goes to their Etsy shop!!! How great is that??! Now, I just have to decide what I want most. The budgie badges and cotton tapes are a must, but I love the tea towels and cushions, and everything else!!!

it's better to give...

My daughter had a birthday party to go to today. Sometimes the wrapping of the gift is as fun as the gift inside....
