is this little pincushion...
we needed to get rid of an old sewing desk that had belonged to my grandmother
(i promise it was not a good piece of furniture...
....monster big....no real wood involved....bought from sears in the 70's)
anyway, it had long been emptied out
and my husband was finally taking it to goodwill.
he decided to look through it one more time
and found this little pincushion hiding in the back of one of the drawers.
it just makes me so happy to have it....
to think that my grandmother stuck those pins in it
the last time she mended something
or made something fabulous....

Wish you a very lovely weekend!
it is lovely, as are the memories it inspires :) funny, i was just thinking of my grandmother this afternoon too as i was using a needlepoint coaster she had made to rest my teacup on. i love how objects can link us to the past and keep people alive in our minds.
wow, that sounds corny, but i mean it.
have a good weekend, michelle!
Items like that are so special. It's wonderful that you've found it. I have one item myself and it sits prominently on my kitchen table. :)
