thrifted...

we spent the weekend at my son's basketball tournament...

its always fun, ....and tiring...

it usually goes something like this....

leave the house around 7 am

game at 9 am, than find something to do till the next game at 12:30...

than wait around till the  3:45 game and then go home about 12 hours after you started. 

and...start all over the next day.  

so...i was super happy to find out that a flea market

was right around the corner from where the basketball 

tournament was being held.  

...i was more than happy to kill a little time thrifting....

.....my husband and son, not so much.  

i was only there for a little bit....but found a few little treasures....

....new blue moss creations coming soon. 

(oh, and by the way, ....we won! :)

which i honestly can't decide is a good or a bad thing....

we are all headed to the mall (arghh)

to finish our Christmas shopping....i hope, i hope...

this weekend we visited a field of daisies

to have some of my daughter's senior pics taken....

...it was so pretty....i wanted to stay....

lately....

around our house...
....we have been all about our new pup....
so, i've been checking out dog beds....
....and let me just say..there are some really ugly dog beds out there....
then I found these....
...and maybe everyone has already seen this cute dog bed idea...
....but it's new to me cause I just never noticed dog things before.

and....I promise not to do this all the time....

but in case you are dying to see the pup since she has gone from

2 1/2 pounds to a whopping 4 pounds...

friday night was my son's last home basketball game...
....the big blue and white game.
the whole family was excited...
and i was distracted, trying to find seats...
...and had no clue that the players were able to buy roses
to give to their gal....or their mom.
i was totally oblivious....
until my big beautiful boy was standing right in front of me...
with a huge smile on is face,
handing me a rose and giving me a hug.
i know it's just want they do...
but this mom who usually doesn't like roses....
loved, loved it anyway....
any maybe even got a little teary

big day...

today my little girl is 18....
it's hard to believe
...just yesterday, she was a teeny, tiny baby
and i still see the little girl in her...
but i'm starting to see the woman she is becoming...
i love, love, love that girl! :)

before she is crazy busy....

flower house...

last week a good pal dropped off a bouquet of flowers....
i split them up around the house
and have been happily greeted with pretty blooms
in every room i walk in...

...just wishing i had good lighting to snap lots of pics of them...

a good weekend to diy...

i have so many cards and pictures and memories
just stuffed in boxes....
i love this idea to turn them into a "rolodex scrapbook"
....using vintage cards
and photos
....and bits of this and that
so that all that goodness that's just hiding away
could be at your fingertips

happy day...

today is my sister's birthday....
...so in her honor.....
i will share something that is 100% her.
she is a total mary jane girl
and a gal who loves all things kate spade
....so these are just perfect

goodbye school...

it's the last day of school.....
actually a half day....
which means i will be at sixth grade "graduation"
and then off to see my 8th grader say goodbye to jr high....
(he is so ready to say hello to high school)
and my daughter is ending her junior year....
only 2 more final exams,
and then next year she rules the school

...and tomorrow....we all sleep in!
looking forward to that :)

oh, how i love high school art...

i have loved everything that my daughter has made in her first art class....
.....remember her fabulous watercolor blueberries?
lately, she's been learning how to make linocuts
....she brought home this little masterpiece yesterday.
i was actually giddy when i saw it.....
she's also working on printing it on colored tissue
...and printing with different inks.

i love it....
can't wait to frame it.
(it's going to look great with my union jack :)

it was the best weekend...

it was happy, happy to spend it with the man of my dreams
and to meet up with friends in savannah that we haven't seen in years
and years and years
...and then to find out that they are moving to our city at the end of the month!

than i was happy, happy to be with my kiddos again
and hear all about their fun adventures this weekend....

now....on to a happy, happy monday :)

tonight is my daughter's junior/senior....
so today will be filled with all sorts of girly things....
hair (she looked at all kinds of updos last night...
she's thinking messy buns, braids, and curls...
i'm excited to see what she finally decides to do...)

and then my baby girl will have her big nite....
