I think you could try making a very similar rug by felting old wool sweaters (sending them through the hot water cycle). That's what I thought the rug was at first... And it really is so lovely.
How about making flowers from felted sweaters for the non knitters and sewing or gluing them onto canvas floor cloth or some thing washable? Thst is what I thought this was when I first saw the picture. Take care.

It's to pretty to put on the floor! And whoever did it chose the prettiest color combinations with those neutrals.
